Lake Forest Country Day School is seeking three part-time early childhood certified preschool teachers for the 2012-2013 school year. Each classroom has two teachers with equal responsibilities for approximately fifteen children for five mornings from 8:10 to 11:30 a.m. This position does not include benefits, but it is an excellent opportunity to be part of a caring, compassionate community with an emphasis on developing the whole child in a challenging, research-based program. The School is dedicated to building a strong foundation with our youngest students in order to graduate eighth-grade students who are prepared to face the challenges of the twenty-first century as people of strong character who are lifelong learners.
Responsibilities:
- Implementing age-appropriate literacy-rich curriculum that engages students and meets their individual needs.
- Maintaining a fun, safe, and healthy environment.
- Communicating regularly and positively with parents.
- Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, vocabulary acquisition, and learning.
- Collaborating appropriately and professionally with fellow co-workers.
- Being flexible, enthusiastic, and energetic.
- Hours: 7:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; flexibility required for participation in staff meetings and professional development.
