The admission policy reflects the mission and philosophy of the school, enrolling youngsters who are enthusiastic about the learning process and exhibit positive values. It is of vital importance that students show consideration for others in the school community.

Applicants to Lake Forest Country Day School are asked to visit classes and be a part of the school for an entire day. On the basis of an interview, testing and evaluation of past academic performance, final decisions are made by the admission committee. Playgroups and screenings take place in late January/early February for preschool through senior kindergarten applicants, with final decisions made by early March. For grades one through eight, visiting days, testing and gathering of school records take place during the fall and winter months, with final decisions made by the end of March.

Lake Forest Country Day School does not discriminate in violation of the law on the basis of race, religion, creed, color, gender, sexual orientation, age, physical challenge, national origin, or any other characteristic in the administration of its admissions and financial aid procedures, or other school-administered programs.

Students enrolled in Lake Forest Country Day School come from over thirty communities. At each grade level, class sizes are held to a predetermined number of students to ensure quality of instruction and to allow faculty members to work individually with each child.
