Step 1:
Contact the Admissions Office to arrange an initial visit to the School. During your visit, you will receive a tour of campus and facilities, as well as observe classes in session. After the tour, you will have the opportunity to meet with the Director of Admission to discuss Lake Forest Country Day School's mission, philosophy, curriculum, and individualized approach to education.

Step 2:
Complete the application and release of records form and return it to the Admissions Office with the $100.00 application fee. Applications can be faxed to 847-234-8725 or mailed to: Admission Office, Lake Forest Country Day School, 145 South Green Bay Road, Lake Forest, IL 60045.

Step 3:
Schedule a testing date. For applicants to sixth through eighth grade, the ERB standardized test is administered and a writing sample is required. For applicants to first through fifth grade, a reading and mathematics evaluation is administered.

Step 4:
When the Admissions Office has received your application, fee, and teacher recommendation, an Admissions Officer will call to schedule a student visit. The type of visit will vary depending upon the grade to which your child applies.


Preschool, Junior Kindergarten, Senior Kindergarten
Beginning in January, applicants are scheduled for small playgroup sessions and screenings.

Grades 1 through 4
Applicants are scheduled for a half- or full-day visit at their current grade level.

Grades 5 through 8
Applicants are scheduled for a full-day visit with their current grade level.
