Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of teaching or related experience. Coursework leading toward a graduate degree or completion of a graduate degree is preferred. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with grade-level partners and the Lower School team, have in-depth knowledge and understanding of elementary education, and support the educational program by challenging and engaging students. Ideally, the candidate would be familiar with mathematical instruction rooted in problem-solving and critical thinking, social and emotional learning, and language arts practices that reflect current research. They would also be able to facilitate differentiated lessons and provide an atmosphere in which children feel safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.

As the school’s primary medical caregiver, the School Nurse supports the health and wellness of all students and employees. The School Nurse must be collaborative and will work closely with the Director of Student Programs and Engagement. Lake Forest Country Day School is seeking a Middle School English teacher for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. The current English curriculum includes literature (including novels, short stories, plays, and poetry), expository writing, creative writing, and a public speaking competition. There is also an intentional emphasis on grammar usage and writing mechanics. Vocabulary is taught traditionally, through Greek and Latin roots, and within the context of literary studies. Students are immersed in middle-grade and young-adult literature. While the curriculum is already well established, there is autonomy for each teacher to choose best-practice methods for instruction.
