Lake Forest Country Day School offers students from Preschool through fourth grade the opportunity to enroll in our
Extended School Program. ESP provides students a safe and nurturing place to unwind after a busy day at school.

Early Panthers Program is for students who arrive at the school between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. Upon arrival, the students will receive a warm welcome and engage in friendly social conversations before going off to begin their academic day.

Extended Day and Panther Club
Extended Day for Preschool through Fourth Grade takes place 3:15 p.m.–4:30 p.m.
Panther Club for Preschool PM, Junior Kindergarten PM, and Senior Kindergarten through Fourth Grade takes place  3:15 p.m.–5:15 p.m. or 3:15–6:00 p.m.


Extended Day and Panther Club are offered Monday through Friday before and after school. Parents have the option of preregistering for one, two, three, four, or five days a week, as well as the option of having students drop in after school if parents are running late. Our program includes reading books, playing outside, making crafts, creative play, and just relaxing. Activities are built around monthly themes.

In addition, our study hall is available for students in second through fourth grade from 3:15 until 4:15 p.m. In study hall the students will be given support with homework, access to technology and/or just someone to read a book with them.

Prime Time
Prime Time is an after-school program for students in Junior Kindergarten through fourth grade who wish to enroll in a specialized activity for an additional fee. Classes are held after school and are taught by faculty members and outside specialists. Previous Prime Time classes have included: Books That Cook; Chess; CircEsteem; Mark Miller’s Munchkin Soccer; Little Picassos; Ready, Set, Write; and much more.

Alcott Lunch Club and Alcott club
Alcott Lunch Club for Preschool AM and PM and Junior Kindergarten AM and  PM takes place 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Alcott Lunch Club and Alcott Club for Preschool AM and Junior Kindergarten AM takes place 11:00 a.m.–3:15 p.m.


Alcott Lunch Club is available for our Preschool and Junior Kindergarten AM and PM children. Preschool and Junior Kindergarten AM children extend their school day until 12:30 p.m. PM children start their school day at 11:00 a.m. Children enjoy a healthy, peanut-free lunch, provided from home. A nearby refrigerator is available for parents to store their child’s sack lunch. The Alcott Lunch Club classrooms are equipped with age and size appropriate bathroom facilities, materials and furniture. This will empower the children to be independent, feel safe and secure and open their minds to enjoying this experience.

Alcott Lunch Club will come together as a group for community lesson. The children will be encouraged to explore, create, question and share at their own developmental level. After our community lesson the children will have their lunch and the opportunity to visit the playground until 12:30 p.m., weather permitting.

The Alcott Club extends the day to 3:15 p.m. for any morning Preschool and Junior Kindergarten children that desire an afternoon program. Children remaining in the Alcott Club after 12:30 p.m. will return back to the classroom to prepare for rest time. As the children wake from their rest time, they will gather at the table for a healthy snack and afternoon activity before saying good-bye.
