About Us

Head of School Search

Inspired teaching, academic rigor, attention to individual needs, a commitment to responsible citizenship—these principles infuse every aspect of life at Lake Forest Country Day School and define our dedication to producing students of strong character with a passion for learning.
In April 2021, Joy Hurd announced that he would step down as Head of School at Lake Forest Country Day School at the end of the 2021-22 school year. During his tenure at Lake Forest Country Day School, Joy, in partnership with the faculty, staff, parents, and the Board of Trustees, has grown the School and its programs to a position of great strength programmatically and financially. We are deeply grateful to Joy for all he has done and continues to do for the LFCDS community and look forward to his continued contributions to our School in the coming months and beyond.

The strength of LFCDS is our community of parents, faculty, staff, alumni, grandparents and students, and we thank you for your ongoing support.
