LFCDS values the whole child and emphasizes play, social-emotional well-being, and physical health. A robust physical education program, including daily recess at every grade level, keeps kids active, teaches the value of teamwork, and allows for greater focus during the school day. Strong social-emotional programs such as Responsive Classroom and Yale University’s RULER Program keep the overall well-being of our students at the center of our work.
Our academic program strives to challenge each student at the upper end of their abilities, according to their needs. Students are comfortably uncomfortable in the pursuit of their next level of challenge, and take academic risks while comprehending that one learns from mistakes and that no great achievement ever occurred without some level of failure along the way.
