2018 LFCDS Independent Boarding School Fair

At LFCDS, our program for secondary-school placement focuses on each student's
individual needs—both academic and social-emotional. Our goal is to find the best fit for
each student to ensure he or she will thrive in high school, college, and beyond.

Students and families considering boarding school life are invited to Lake Forest Country Day School on Wednesday, October 3, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to spend an evening with us at our Independent Boarding School Fair.

One of the largest of its kind in the country, the LFCDS Independent Boarding School Fair draws more than 100 diverse boarding schools from across the country, each with a distinctive educational approach. LFCDS has hosted this fair for the past fourteen years as a service to families from the North Shore and surrounding communities. This event is free and open to all middle-school students and their families.

The Benefits of an Independent Boarding School

In addition to providing an excellent education and preparation for college, a boarding school can also offer:

  • Challenging academic curricula, including Honors and Advanced Placement classes
  • Small class sizes, low student-teacher ratio, and individualized attention
  • Broad and diverse offerings in the arts, athletics, and community service
  • Cultural exchange programs, advanced technology, and outdoor and experiential education
  • Need-based financial aid programs
