Pop Up Innovation at LFCDS

Science is a cooperative enterprise, spanning the generations. It's the passing of a torch from teacher, to student, to teacher. A community of minds reaching back to antiquity and forward to the stars.

Pop Up Innovation is a series presented by Lake Forest Country Day School (LFCDS) in association with the Northern Illinois Computing Educators. The series will highlight LFCDS master teachers presenting on a topic or technology relevant to all levels of teaching. It will occur on Saturday mornings in LFCDS's state of the art Innovation Space from 10:00 a.m. to noon with light refreshments provided. NICE will be able to provide professional development hours to public school teachers.
Our second session has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 6 and will feature Grant Tabor (Band Director) and Kim Bell (Assistant Head of Upper School and Grade 7 English Teacher) as they present on recording and podcasting in the classroom. Grant and Kim will teach attendees how to easily integrate recording and podcasting across various curriculums and disciplines. They will also lead guests in a workshop on how to use free software to record and overlay audio that can be used in both podcasts and videos.

While this course will be tailored to educators who have never used recording and podcasting, all levels of experience are welcome. Maximum capacity is 30 participants.

Lake Forest Country Day School is pleased to be partnering with the Northern Illinois Computing Educators (NICE) for the Pop Up Innovation Series.

NICE encourages the development, growth and use of technology in all facets of the educational process, and extends an invitation to educators to band together to further this process. It is dedicated to presenting programs meeting the needs and interests of its membership and to providing a forum for informal communication and support.
