What is the Annual Giving Fund?

Annual Giving is the cornerstone of all fundraising activities at the School and is needed to maintain the level of excellence fostered at LFCDS. It refers to unrestricted gifts made to the School on a yearly basis. The Annual Fund year mirrors the School’s financial year, beginning on July 1 and ending on June 30.

Annual Fund gifts help Lake Forest Country Day School:

  • Maintain an average student-to-teacher ratio of 7:1
  • Offer a rigorous and challenging curriculum
  • Hire, retain, and professionally develop skilled faculty and staff
  • Enhance and maintain campus infrastructure
  • Support the athletics, arts, and music programs

Every Gift Makes an Impact

Parents, alumni, alumni parents, grandparents, faculty and staff, businesses, and friends of LFCDS all support the Annual Giving Fund. Every gift is important and recognized in our overall success. The very act of participating with a gift of any size positions the School to attract support from foundations and corporations. At any given time, one gift can actually contribute to more gifts to LFCDS. Most of all, Annual Fund support has an immediate and lasting impact on the students, teachers, and programs that make LFCDS an extraordinary place of learning.

Why Give?

Like most independent schools, LFCDS relies on tax-deductible donations to meet its immediate needs. Since tuition and fees cover 80% of the cost of educating our students, these tax-deductible gifts are crucial to helping LFCDS fulfill mission-critical initiatives. As an important source of funding for the School, the Annual Giving Fund supplies 8% of the operating budget every year. Each gift has a direct impact in bolstering this essential source of funding.
