A MESSAGE ABOUT THE LFCDS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Dear LFCDS Community,
We are proud to share the ongoing growth and success of our LFCDS Internship Program as we start off another exciting school year.
Since the program began in 2023, we have hosted semester-long undergraduate interns in our Innovation, Information Technology, and Secondary School Placement departments. Our interns have supported students, faculty, and staff in a variety of ways, including classroom projects, technology initiatives, event planning, and research. Through their work, they have contributed fresh ideas, new perspectives, and an enthusiasm for learning that has enriched our school community.
So far, we’ve welcomed almost 30 interns from five different universities and six countries. Their diverse backgrounds and experiences have helped us stay committed to innovation, teamwork, and broadening our community at LFCDS.
The program has also deepened our relationship with area universities. Nearly 85% of our interns have come from Lake Forest College, and we have been a featured employer at its hiring events. LFCDS has also been a spotlight partner for Northeastern Illinois University, and our students have been invited to share at the Northern Illinois University STEMfest for the past two years.
The program has also become an important pathway for identifying and developing future educators and professionals. To date, we have made four full-time hires from our internship program, a testament to both the quality of our interns and the meaningful professional experiences they gain while at LFCDS.

Ellie Clark
My name is Ellie and I will be interning as the Designer in Residence for LFCDS this fall! I grew up in Fort Collins, CO and am a current Junior studying Graphic Design and Communication Studies at Lake Forest College. I love all things outdoors, art, books, and film! This past summer I spent my time as a Camp Counselor for Shady Trails Camp in Northport, MI, and I am very excited to be a part of the LFCDS community this fall!
Mimi James
Hi! My name is Mimi, and I am the Library Intern this school year. I am a Junior at Lake Forest College, majoring in Elementary Education and History. I am also in the Master's Program in Elementary Education. I love to read and help other people fall in love with reading too! When I’m not working or at school, I am usually needlepointing, hanging out with pets, swimming, or baking. I am so excited for this school year, and can’t wait to meet everyone!
