A Message from the Head of school
Dear LFCDS Families,
On the evening of Wednesday, October 7, we will gather with our newest families to celebrate one of Lake Forest Country Day School's most cherished traditions: our annual New Parent Dinner.
This year, we are delighted to welcome 87 new students and their families to the LFCDS community.
This special evening provides an opportunity for new families to connect with one another, learn more about our school, and hear from me and Board of Trustees Vice President, Kate Holland, about the core beliefs and mission that unite us.
Most importantly, the evening will feature the voices of those who know the LFCDS experience best: our alumni. We are honored to welcome current high school seniors and LFCDS Class of 2023 graduates Bella Goldfayn and Owen Baer, who will share reflections on their educational journeys, how their experience at LFCDS prepared them for success in high school, and how it continues to shape the opportunities and aspirations that lie ahead as they prepare for college.
Their stories serve as a powerful reminder of the lasting impact of an LFCDS education. While we take great pride in our students' accomplishments during their years on our campus, we are equally inspired by who they become afterward: thoughtful, capable young people who are prepared to thrive in the next chapters of their lives. The evening also provides an opportunity for our eighth-grade students to embrace their leadership role within the school as they welcome and serve our newest families during the dinner.
At Lake Forest Country Day School, we believe there is no substitute for a strong start to a child's educational journey. Our commitment to inspired teaching, championing childhood, and close partnership with families provides the foundation for positive outcomes that extend far beyond the classroom.
We look forward to celebrating our newest families and officially welcoming them into our community next week.
If you are a family with a new student this year and have not yet had an opportunity to RSVP, please use this registration link to reserve your place.
I look forward to seeing our new parents on October 7.
All the best,
John Melton
