A Message from the head of school
Dear LFCDS Families,
I am delighted to welcome you to Giving Week, a special time when we celebrate the extraordinary generosity, partnership, and shared commitment that make Lake Forest Country Day School such a remarkable community.
This year's Giving Week arrives alongside one of our favorite traditions: Homecoming. Homecoming is about more than returning to campus. It is an opportunity to celebrate the people, values, and experiences that connect us across generations. It reminds us that a school is not simply a collection of buildings or programs, but a community of individuals united by a shared commitment to children and to one another.
Giving Week reflects the same spirit. It is an opportunity for our entire community to come together in support of our students, faculty, and mission while celebrating the collective impact we make when each of us chooses to participate.
As we begin this week, I am proud to share that we have already achieved two meaningful milestones. For the sixth consecutive year, our faculty and staff have already reached 100% participation in the Annual Giving Fund, and our Board of Trustees has once again achieved 100% participation as well. These dedicated individuals know our school deeply and have chosen to demonstrate their confidence in LFCDS through their participation. Their commitment reflects a profound belief in our mission, our people, and our future.
The Annual Giving Fund is our most important source of philanthropic support. While tuition provides approximately 85% of the resources required to operate the school, the Annual Giving Fund helps bridge the gap, supporting exceptional teaching, innovative programs, student well-being, and the experiences that make an LFCDS education truly distinctive.
This week, I invite every family to participate in the Annual Giving Fund. Our goal is simple: to come together as one community. Every gift, regardless of size, strengthens our school and sends a powerful message of confidence in LFCDS. Just as Homecoming celebrates our connection to one another, participation in the Annual Giving Fund demonstrates our shared commitment to the students who learn, grow, and thrive here each day.
Thank you for all you do to support our students and our community. I look forward to celebrating the impact of our collective generosity throughout Giving Week and Homecoming.
With gratitude,
John
