    Business Office Associate 

    Lake Forest Country Day School (LFCDS) seeks a new Business Office Associate starting immediately. This position reports to the Director of Finance & Operations, and works closely with the Controller and Benefits/Accounting Clerk. This position will also interact with administrators, staff, faculty, parents, and alumni in a variety of roles with professional judgment, discretion, diplomacy, confidentiality, and good humor. 

    LFCDS, located on a 30-acre campus about 30 miles north of Chicago, Illinois, is a co-educational, independent day school serving 400 students from age 2 through eighth grade. The School has a long tradition of producing thoughtful, confident, and successful students.   • Middle School English Teacher

    Lake Forest Country Day School is seeking a Middle School English teacher for the upcoming 2022-23 school year. The current English curriculum includes literature (including novels, short stories, plays, and poetry), expository writing, creative writing, and a public-speaking competition. There is also an intentional emphasis on grammar usage and writing mechanics. Vocabulary is taught traditionally, through Greek and Latin roots, and within the context of literary studies. Students are immersed in middle-grade and young adult literature. While the curriculum is already well established, there is autonomy for each teacher to choose best-practice methods for instruction.

  • Middle School Science Teacher

    Lake Forest Country Day School is seeking a Middle School Science teacher for the upcoming 2022-23 school year. The current curriculum includes a study of Life, Physical, and Earth science. As a department, we stress the importance of lab-based activities with a variety of both formative and summative assessment strategies. The position is for fifth grade, which currently includes the study of Ecosystem Dynamics, the Chemistry of Materials, Structure and Function of the Human Body, and Earth’s Spheres. Emphasis is placed on developing students ability to design and carry out laboratory investigations, apply and interpret models, construct scientific explanations, and to engage in argument based in evidence. Curriculum and delivery often offers a significant amount of autonomy and creativity related to delivery of instruction while maintaining departmental collaboration as well as continuity.
