  • Extended School Program Assistant

    Lake Forest Country Day School welcomes resumes from individuals interested in assisting our Extended School Program Director during the 2021-2022 academic year. 

    This candidate will work during after-school programming with our preschool through grade 4 students. The hours are from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. when school is in session. The pay is $15.00 an hour.

    This position requires a caring, nurturing, creative, and energetic individual with the adaptability to work with children ages three through ten.

  • Part-Time Middle School Spanish Teacher

    Lake Forest Country Day School (LFCDS) is seeking a part-time Spanish teacher to teach a 2021-2022 middle school proficiency level curriculum with the possibility of some early childhood instruction as well. Bilingual Spanish/French would be a plus. Opportunities exist for future full-time status.

  • Middle School Social Studies Teacher

    Lake Forest Country Day School is seeking a Middle School Social Studies teacher for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. Units of study may include cultural studies of Russia and China, the Ancient World, the Middle Ages, and the Renaissance. There is also an exploratory unit based on the history of Illinois and Chicago. The department is poised to expand the curricular content to further explore world cultures. There is an intentional focus on skill development, executive functions, study strategies, Cornell note-taking, and project-based learning. While the curriculum is well established, autonomy exists for each teacher to choose best-practice methods for delivery of instruction.

  • Middle School Science Teacher

    Lake Forest Country Day School is seeking a Middle School Science teacher for the upcoming 2021-22 school year. The current curriculum includes a study of Life, Physical, and Earth science. As a department we stress the importance of lab-based activities with a variety of both formative and summative assessment strategies. The position is for sixth grade, which currently includes the study of Earth Science as well as projects such as using Minecraft to create interactive cells, doing field studies in the outdoor classroom, introducing fundamentals of Lego Robotics, and using micro:bit technology. Previous years have also included the Sea Perch Engineering Competition where students build underwater robots. Curriculum and delivery often offers a significant amount of autonomy and creativity related to delivery of instruction while maintaining departmental collaboration as well as continuity.

This position reports to the Director of Finance & Operations, and works closely with the Controller and Benefits/Accounting Clerk.  This position will also interact with administrators, staff, faculty, parents,  and alumni in a variety of roles with professional judgment, discretion, diplomacy, confidentiality, and good humor.
