    More than 70% of LFCDS staff hold graduate degrees. The average length of tenure at the school is 18 years.

    Scope and sequence are carefully planned so that unifying concepts, habits of mind, and academic skills are reinforced multiple times with increasing depth and complexity.

    LFCDS students come from 35 different communities across Chicagoland and southern Wisconsin. More broadly, 25% of students identify as a Student of Color; 25% of families receive some form of tuition assistance; 15% are considered International students.

    The 150,000-square-foot building reflects the importance of community-building in our culture. Common gathering and learning spaces connect students across all three divisions.
  • Differentiated Instruction

    Knowing the students we teach - individually, culturally, and developmentally - is of utmost importance to us as educators. Teachers focus on each student's learning style and make adjustments as needed to meet each child at their level. 
  • Extended School Programming

    Lunch and afternoon enrichment options are available for Preschool and JK students. After-school care and "Prime Time" (enrichment short-term classes) are offered for students in Preschool through Grade 8.
  • Educational Technology Program

    LFCDS is committed to integrating educational technology in ways that transform teaching and learning and allow for the integration of tools that enrich learning. Students have access to a variety of devices and tools used in safe and educationally-appropriate ways.
