For Senior Kindergarten through Grade 8

Lake Forest Country Day School is committed to a dynamic educational program and encourages faculty to challenge students to discover and explore their talents to the fullest. LFCDS maintains standards of dress that express respect for this important endeavor.

Lake Forest Country Day School’s Dress Code reflects the values inherent in the School’s teaching philosophy and is designed to:
  • Define standards, which are age-appropriate and seasonally comfortable.
  • Promote individual neatness
  • Create a level of consistency in attire, which will contribute to the overall appearance of the student body and discourage competition in clothing.

The School has adopted a specified wardrobe for students in Senior Kindergarten through Grade 8 that offers many options including collared short-sleeve shirts, shorts, pants, dresses, skirts, jumpers, skorts, sweaters, quarter-zips, vests, cardigans, and jackets. These items are only permissible in specific color options: (dark/forest/hunter/evergreen, navy blue, grey, white, khaki, and hunter/navy plaid).

Lands’ End
Lands’ End is the official Dress Code provider for Lake Forest Country Day School. Any items on the LFCDS-specific page (School Code: 900109026) may be worn to school. While Lands’ End extends the offer of logo embroidery on all of their items, it is not required.

Additional Vendors/Brands
Students are permitted to wear items from vendors/brands other than Lands’ End, provided that it is similar to the item from Lands’ End in every way. All items must be solid-colored and consistent with the color offerings from Lands’ End (dark/forest/hunter/evergreen, navy blue, grey, white, khaki, hunter/navy plaid). All items must be free of logos.
Athletics Dress
As participation in Athletics is a required part of our Upper School program, specific dress items are necessary for physical activity and to foster team identity. Upper School students must wear LFCDS athletic attire and appropriate footwear on designated practice days.  Only items with the approved Athletics logo are permitted to be worn on Athletic Dress days.  Items from other athletic brands/vendors or from Spirit Store are not permissible as Athletics Dress.

1st STEP, Preschool, and Junior Kindergarten Dress
Students in 1st STEP, Preschool, and Junior Kindergarten do not have a Dress Code. Because children in these grade levels are often physically engaged during the learning process, school dress should be comfortable and practical.
