| Each year our students in Preschool-Grade 8 have the opportunity to participate in the Birthday Book Club by purchasing a book in honor of their own birthday. The book is then donated to the School Library. This tradition allows us to buy the best in children’s books throughout the year, enabling us to continuously update our existing collection. We hope that many of you will want your child to participate in this program.Participation is strictly voluntary. Some of you may not want to participate each year. Others might like to have one book in honor of all the children in one family. If you are interested, just submit the form to the right. When your child has a birthday, he/she will be notified by the librarian to come and choose a book. A special bookplate will be placed in the book honoring your child’s birthday, and they will then be the first to check out the book to show you and their classmates. Your child’s participation in the program will give him/her a sense of sharing with classmates, and it will let your child personally participate in helping the library expand its collection. All books will be billed to your LFCDS account. A standard $18.00 fee/book will enable your child to choose any of the books on display, as well as cover the library-processing costs. Please submit the form to the right as soon as possible, if you are interested. Thanks for your support! Donna Culhane Librarian |
